Given your goals in getting into multifamily, it may be worth considering the opportunity cost of selling now & potentially losing out on any additional appreciation or whether you'd be able to find anything in the multi space anytime soon.

To fill the gaps between new builds for our own account we are looking to do work for others.We are not well suited to the large volume / low return type of work (flip contractor, small remodels, etc.) but have the ideal setup and experience for new home construction, custom homes, small commercial and multi-family, and major remodels.

You should be able to find insurance for that building less than $3k / year.You can find good PM's for 8% and no placement fees or other hidden fees.Also worth knowing the multi-family market in San Jose is softening right now.
