Hey Bigger Pockets family,It has been a very long time since I wrote in the forums but I figured some people get inspired by stories of success, so here is mine. 

My wife and I have no children, but she has some pretty severe medical issues and cannot work so I've learned to become very disciplined with our money as I'm the only income source right now aside from selling auto and homeowners insurance on the side.Now for the mortgage info: we purchased our home for right at 185k in 2017 and currently owe 174k. 

I’ve been truly inspired by all of the podcasts, videos, and posts from the biggerpockets community and I feel like I’m ready to start investing.My immediate goal is to purchase a long distance investment property to start cash flow.

Long Island is expensive, particularly Garden City & COVID has inspired many NYC residents to come to Long Island.

And, if the new property is going to be your forever home to eventually be willed to your children, you will have no recapture owed by your estate upon death.

Hello everyone,I moved to Essex County, NJ from NYC hoping to buy a house at the end of 2021, however prices have skyrocketed more than ever before and people are paying for more than the home is actually worth.How has this sudden increase in home prices changed your home buying plans, especially when you need to stay in a certain area due to children, family, work, etc?

I am a freshman in college majoring in real estate and I got inspired to pursue a career in real estate because of my mom, who was a successful realtor for a very long time.
