a 401k loan is almost the equivalent of a hard $ loan.oh, and you don't get to deduct the cost of paying those taxes back on your real estate investment.IMO, a lot of people don't have a clue about their true cost of borrowing for this vehicle. it's not mentioned on the internet very much either.there's a guy I know who is an underwriter for a bank and doesn't know about this; I feel bad for people who don't see the true cost of this.search for private loans, bank loans before this. and make sure you know how much of a hit you will take. for a $50k 401k loan, that's almost $15k you eat!

What I am shocked about is how you are considering the future with your girlfriend based on what others are saying on the internet.

I have been searching all over the internet for some ideas of what to do with it (as reasonably as possible) and while I am finding tons of info on interior rehabs, I just can't find too much for the outside. 

@Adrian Reyes  well to state the obvious  crowdfunders gather investors over the internet and through their web pages.Not inviting a 5k investor to your home.. 

I like to think I'm pretty savy when it comes to scouring the internet for free information and kind of figured I would get these responses.

He said they seemed to be operating from an voice-over-internet phone, had an African accent, requested a $1500 up-front fee deposited to a personal account and didn't know how to answer the question of points charged for the loan.For me, it's safe to say, I'm avoiding them.

I checked the law book, but all it says is that the salesperson can't advertise properties as being in their own name and that Internet advertising of any kind has to include the broker that the agent is affiliated with.

They've heard Internet rumors about states like Florida, and think it is the same everywhere.

@Scott Scharl  in that case super simple again.appointment with good civil engineer in the area.. and best to use the company that prepped the plans your looking at Ask them whats needed to finish.trying to find out what to do on the internet is a worthless waste of time.. belly to belly go talk tot hose that do this for a lviing
