Lien/Judgment Search

well, evan, most title companies will find anything of concern to you in this adventure. however, you can visit your local municipality, such as the county assessors office, and look at the records for any house. if someone is going to put a lein on a property, they have to have a judgement from a court, and there will be a record of it. as regards to mortgages and such, they have to record these mortgages with the county as well. when the mortgages are paid off or otherwise satisfied, they have to file a release of lein or mortgage with the county records as well. in todays hi-tech world, all of this should be on the computer at the local county office.
