Nothing was said to me by the realtor or the title company and I did pay for a title search.

@Aaron Taylor Very common issue and it is company specific as @John Mocker states.I'd say 9 out of 10 of my clients have a different Umbrella carrier than who is insuring the rentals.Having different insurance carriers will not cause headaches in the future as long as both companies are fully aware of how the properties are titled and the Umbrella lists all of the named insured's correctly.

You really do want to do a title search.

@Owen Washington it could be done but its complicated, A) you have to be a real cash buyer because they require you to put down a non refundable deposit after the action, or you must have very solid cash buyers that are ok buying a property sight unseen because its hard to get access to the property prior to the closing of title.
