Magnetic door stops are the best, many of the friction type actually can damage flimsy interior doors, and if they are just a cheap spring "stop", they are no help when the wind slams the doors shut.

If you find a non-cabin home at a reasonable price in a good rental area you can always add tongue and grove in the interior and the D-log lumber on the exterior to make it look like a log cabin home.
