I've read several of the blog's with regard to "house hacking" including @Scott Trench's experience with his first property as well as @Darren Sager's podcast on his duplex ventures, and I've decided this is the path I'm going to take. 

Biggerpockets is a great free resource between the forums, blogs, articles, and podcasts to really educate yourself, build a foundation, and decide which strategy fits you best.Once you have decided which path you want to go down, start reaching out to local people who are where you want to be. 

Just take sometime to educate yourself, to figure out what path best suits you, tons of FREE resources here on bigger pockets, join and network with local investors, figure out where you are financially.

I am looking forward to learning from more experienced people and getting a better handle on my path to owning more properties.

This seems to be a little more straightforward in SFR so wanted some opinions.

For commercial RE, one should request a Schedule E to verify the buyer's rental income with their tax documents.Valuing a duplex should be more straightforward.
