I currently occupy the principal room, leaving two vacant rooms.My plan is to rent out one of the vacant rooms to someone I know, but I'm seeking advice on the tax implications of this move.

A couple other key assumptions that I would advise "kicking the tires on" before moving forward:1.

I'm still trying to decide whether this is a dumb or smart move -- maybe the fates are trying to tell me I'm overextended right now and better deals might come along soon???

I live at home with my parents and don't plan to move out unless I get a good job out of town.
