On my JVs, although its not for a rehab deal, but for construction, I define net profit first, all income less all expenses, then profit split, dedicated joint checking account on both companies, monitored by a third party bookkeeper reviewed by cpa, little expensive and unnecessary expense but keeps the lawsuit away.

The edge of the full drywall sheet is tapered, so that lets you have a cleaner (less bulging) joint where new meets old in the middle of the wall - so less noticeable.

A gap at a joint between sheets might just be sloppy installation where the sheetrock was cut to the wrong size and the hole filled with something which gave out.
