There is some talk of new high efficiency requirements for gas heaters, where to teach those efficiency levels the units will be condensing, and then you would want to direct vent that sort of heating system.

This batt insulation should not have any kraft paper or vinyl facing (vapor retarder) on it as this will create a condensation and mold problem.
