If you earn more you are expect to dress better, drive better cars, live in a better neighboorhood, send your kids to private school, expensive vacations and so on and so on.

They did everything... paint, carpet, framing, drywall, cabinets....everything.My 16 yearold even dressed up and was at both our Open Houses and walked and talked the business..

So if someone were to say "Sally from Sally's Dress shop was so Rude to me, I was in the shop yesterday and asked to used the bathroom and she said "no"" Sally could then respond "There was a parade outside my shop yesterday, and I posted on the front door that the bathroom was for customers only.

In other markets, flippers do not get dressed for $20K but then they are paying $400K for properties. 

He made sacrifices when he was young and bought property instead, and it's paid off.He always told me that when he worked at as a loan originator for 20+ years the first red flag he saw in people at the bank was how nicely they were dressed.  

I don't dress up anymore.
