I see that they don't currently have physical checks (though will send one on your behalf) and it takes 6-7 business days for a check to show up in your account after depositing via their app. 

What got you to take the leap into investing?

It takes all of maybe 4 hours a month to keep my stuff in order. 

For those seasoned investors, if you had my dilemma what steps would you take?

My husband and I will be taking my in-laws into our home due to health issues.

See if any of the renters are planning to leave, then you can set a clear departure date and take over their rental.

Give them their deposit back and take your medicine.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to almost never take advice on design from contractors.

Taking an asset to liquidate is a significant hassle, loaded with additional expenses, time oh-so-mush time, and variables such as potential market movements, changes to condition etc. all these come together to very possibly devouring what your equity positions may be in full or more, leaving no real equity of securitization itself. 

In my opinion lawyers are going to end up taking/earning all the equity for the guys to get out of the deal.
