First, the ceiling in the downstairs kitchen is leaking water, which below the upstairs bathroom.

obviously if you are doing renovations to a kitchen or bath I would not leave those pipes in the wall, but at this point of you are not doing any work at this time you are not doing anything wrong by leaving it in place.

There better be something great in the first room that they enter, and as they move through the house the kitchen and baths better pop!  

I see too many new investors who spend time and money setting up entities they aren't equipped to operate properly.

A lot of the housing stock, in and around Baltimore, is fairly old (1940's and 50's) and typically requires a minimum amount of rehab that often include: rewiring, replumb, roof, windows, kitchens, baths, cosmetics, and oftentimes a full gut to the studs.

From the prices I have seen, you could do quite well that way- they are getting the price of a one bedroom apartment for a bedroom + shared kitchen and bath. 

We finally upgraded our own kitchen to be as nice as some of our rentals!
