If I was a new investor getting ready to make that big of a purchase I would be doing exactly what you are doing by educating myself, digging on BP and asking for guidance and I would also seek out an investor friendly agent in the area you are looking to invest in.

Hoping to get some guidance on finding reputable homebuilders and small multifamily GCs in the San Antonio area that could build multiple fourplexes (100 Units total). 

Being new to these strategies, we are in need of guidance and have a good friend and mentor who is more than willing to help but is shifting his efforts from Seattle to Arizona (Phoenix and surrounding areas).
