There is $1.2T in un-tapped resources here, and 6 million holding it looking for an alternative investment!!

Not sure if anyone has experience with these setups but it sounds like a good alternative to paying the $20k-$50k.

The alternative is to carry something on your balance sheet at what is clearly an incorrect valuation for years or decades, which is clearly more of a distorting factor than any error introduced by valuing it incorrectly at year's end.

The alternative is "specific performance".

I'm not necessarily looking for a value increase by doing this by I believe the tiny master and unused basement are a bit of a turnoff compared to the alternative.

Doing extensions ad infinitum seemed unreasonable so there seemed to be no other alternative than to go with the cancellation.

Either way, do any alternatives exist to selling or refinancing as an exit strategy?

If this was a cash flow play I would go with the lower cost lower tax alternative but neither appears to have a good cash flow and may even turn slightly negative if deferred maintenance becomes an issue. what is your exit strategy.
