It depends on the age of the house, it's not the best practice to put asphalt over slate but I've seen it done before because removing slate is very costly, slate is heavy.

I’ve checked out realtor.com and played with some filters to narrow it down to be more specific to age of homes, price, and sold price to determine if they might be in areas I can farm and drive for dollars for potential wholesale deals and get some targeted lists together.
