It’s in a lake town and I thought maybe offering boat detailing would be able to bring in extra revenue, but that means people would have to trailer their boats to the location so it probably wouldn’t be enough extra $$$ to justify building from the ground up 

Which is fine, because I like all the horses, trees and adobes and I don't mind the trailers and run down neighborhoods. 

Recently I did what I used to call a day trip to that property and I'm now curious if it qualifies as "business travel" for tax purposes per the IRS "Topic No. 511 Business Travel Expenses":"You're traveling away from home if your duties require you to be away from the general area of your tax home for a period substantially longer than an ordinary day's work, and you need to get sleep or rest to meet the demands of your work while away."

Now, if you travel East of this zipcode toward Lee's Summit, neighborhoods get a lot nicer.

I have clients who are having good success renting their studios on Airbnb with 30-day minimum rentals to traveling nurses.
