In my jurisdiction a CO monitor is mandated if you have a combustion source at your property, as is at least one smoke alarm per floor irregardless of a combustion source.

I've had experience with FHA requiring tedious repairs such as adding hand rails to small sets of steps, painting the floor, walls, and ceilings in basements, and other things that perhaps the seller is unwilling to do.

Yes, but not one with stain glass and all, Mennonite church/ two open floors. it was in an area that was zoned for 2 family, i went before the zoning board as a condition to buying the property, and was able to convert it to a 2 family / 2 levels, student rental ( got 8 bedrooms out of it).
