There is the "simple" checks such as using a company email, not pushing you to pay anything up front, etc..

Doing an OOS renovation is even more challenging - you can't physically check on the property unless you fly out there frequently.

I like to check rates yearly to see if there is an opportunity to change over to something more affordable.
