I am a student that attends a small college in West Tennessee pursuing a finance degree with plans on becoming a certified general appraiser. 

After 5 years that paradise was just home, and I started getting a bit cold under 70 degrees. 

Self limiting beliefs.Self limiting beliefs are a very large barricade to you achieving big things and achieving your vision and then proceeding to blow it out of the water and moving onto the next one.It is very easy to be frightened by your next goal, and you should be to some degree because it should be bigger than the one that you just completed.

I have no real transferable skills besides what I've learned being a business owner, no degree etc so I'm unsure if this is just fantasy or something I could make work and wanted some opinions from others.

You could end up with paint splatters all over your flooring, trim, cabinets, and fixtures, a mess for edging around the ceilings and trim, peeling paint where the trim wasn't adequately sanded or deglossed, poor uneven wall texture if repairs are not made and sanded, and/or nicotine bleeding through the new paint, etc..

Greetings:Well ... someone has the legal right to dispose of the property, and without heirs, there generally needs to be some sort of application to a Court of competent jurisdiction to have a person appointed in order to represent the assets of the decedent.NB: In NY, you would petition the Surrogate's Court to be appointed an Administrator, based upon your degree of kinship to the decent. 

Recently I have moved home to lower my cost of living and gone back to school to finish my degree in hopes of making more income.

In order to pursue my dream of achieving financial freedom through real estate, I have decided to move back in with my parents (lower my living expenses) and go back to school to finish my degree so that I can increase my income and the amount of capital I have to invest.

This will provide a buffer to a degree.
