I would try reaching out to a mortgage broker (versus a straight up bank)... they usually have more lenders to pick from... you can't be the first one to have this issue, and somewhere is going to have a solution for you.  

Assuming that you are going to be setting up a C Corp anyway because most tech startups are setup this way if they are going to have a large number of shareholders, the ROBS solution sounds appealing, until you get into the details.

By far the easiest solution to your problem is to have someone (usually a parent) co-sign on your mortgage.

This is a nice short term solution for me and for my seller.    

We decided to ask her about moving into one of our renovated rentals on a month to month basis until she could find a permanent solution.
