Working with a mortgage broker or a lender that specializes in DSCR loans will get you more favorable terms as they have investors on the back end after the loan closes buying these loans which helps the lender replenish cash for more loans.

They have considered changing these rules to help lower insurance costs HOWEVER, they would grandfather existing owners - at least 50% use as short term rentals so changing these rules wouldn't fly otherwise.
