I believe they stayed with family, don't think they paid for hotel. 

Give them an allowance on how much they can spend on a hotel for a temporary living situation?  

I’m curious about condo hotel opportunities, and I’m wondering if anyone has any experience investing in these properties they would be willing to share.

I'm chuckling because I once showed a tiny condo to a man who claimed to be a truck driver, who would only sleep in it a couple of nights per week, it would be cheaper than a hotel, for some reason he thought that meant he didn't need a background check.  

Thank you for the reply, here where i am i know people on TDY that use AirBNB single rooms/shared house at $30-$60 a night vs a hotel room with a cap of $90 for government rates.  

I know some that are buying hotels and converting them to multi family. 

Make your property comparable to a high quality hotel and the revenue stream will be there.  

It's been a few years since I read it, but the gist of it was - in order to be able to deduct 100% of your travel expenses (i.e. airfare,  hotels, rental car) - you must be able to show the primary purpose of your trip was for business.
