Over the past few years, my wife and I rehabbed our home and sold it with enough of a profit to fund a move from Central Oregon to Kansas City to where my wife's family lives, purchase a new (albeit much smaller) home and make a few improvements to it, cover medical expenses for our baby boy who was born a couple months after we moved, and allowed me to take a few months off work to stay home with my little family.

Every time I go to Bandon I wish I had the skill to warrant playing there. 

I’m a 22 year-old from Chicago who is looking to obtain my Real Estate License as well as start investing in properties.I figured someone here has some information on what different skills can be extremely valuable to have if you want a successful real estate career, business, etc.

This presupposed BOTH the time and the skills.

Through this flip, I was able to develop my negotiating skills, learned to manage workers, and refined technical skills like patching and (properly) painting sheet rock.

To keep up the rest of the world, and so my traditional "professional" skills don't get rusty, I work remotely for a software company. 

And due to heavy and diligent tenant screening, my tenant was great so I was willing to live with less extra dollars till he graduated from medical school.

I am practicing my financial modeling skills and reading up about real estate. 

I was in the medical profession part time but have no desire to get back into that full time.
