*************************************************************************************Has The Housing Bubble Peaked: Zillow Pauses Robo-Flipping Due To "Snags"In recent weeks we had heard several anecdotal reports that Zillow's electronic house flipping service was underperforming, buying houses at overinflated prices and then flipping them for a loss (even when factoring in fees and commissions).It appears there has been some truth to that, because according to Bloomberg, Zillow, which acquired more than 3,800 homes in the second quarter, "will stop pursuing new home purchases as it works through a backlog of properties already in its pipeline."

-BloombergIn September, Zillow put a record number of homes on the market - with the lowest markups since November 2018 according to research firm YipitData, which also noted that the company had cut prices on almost half of its US listings in the 3rd quarter.In the second quarter, Zillow bought over 3,800 houses towards their stated goal of acquiring 5,000 homes per month by 2024.In Phoenix, 36.5% of properties currently for sale were listed below their purchase price, while the remainder of the 93% started higher, only to have price reductions.

If you wanted to you could potentially put a bit more than 20% as a down payment but I wouldn’t go crazy because it sounds like you could let the second property stabilize and then buy a third and get it going and then do a fourth if you wanted to.
