As for investing I plan to learn the bare bones of real estate transactions and the industry more before I begin to invest, I was interested in finding wholesale deals and passing them along to flippers in hopes they would turn around and give me the listing, but I am still trying to become more knowledgable in the field.

It would be a GREAT help if I could get some third party prospective from others that have lives in this field.

The biggest downside I see to that particular function is the lack of familiarity with CPA's in the field trying to get the taxes filed appropriately.

You must determine an hourly rate that your other 2 partners will agree on,  Then you have equity.I would say hourly for every hour you spend in your field/partnership.Say $45-$90 per hour!!!

If you are really focused on making REI your life and career, go find a real estate related company and work for them to better understand the field.

The "Real Estate Professional" category has little to do with being the real estate field.
