I tried vinegar/baking soda, dollar store cleaners, and Woolite (worked, but would need way too many bottles for the house to make this cost effective).Do those $50 Home Depot carpet steam cleaners work well?

Don't know Michigan statutes, however if you're concerned that guy will continue to gripe, the ultra-safe, conservative approach is to hire a 3rd party to photograph and inventory each room's contents and have them remove and store off site.

More often than not when a landlord requires or expects a tenant to take care of bed bugs, (because they brought them in), they run to the local store to purchase bed bug products and not do it professionally.
