Yes, both organizations offer solid training and support to help you get started.But the real value of these organizations is the people you will meet.

Board members get sued for their idiotic decisions(see above lack of skills)....and those tend to go nowhere because they are indemnified from any causes as a result of their performance, except illegal acts.Most condo fails are due to expense control. 

Some of their team can be smarmy or patronizing ( accompanied by extreme ignorance) but most are stellar and have good to great customer service skills.

Cover life skills that will make your life easier (i.e. where to get a money order locally, what it means to have neighbors, etc) and remind them that you know how to get a hold of their parents, lol.
