It is a highly specialized career that will take just as long or longer than most apprenticeships for trades will take.

Get a deal, your entire career depends on your ability to get deals.

First I would like to apologize if this question was already asked I'm knew to this forum.My question is before even thinking of investing should I get a career in real estate like an appraiser or anything else in that same field?

However, I need to make a change in careers and real estate seems to be the way to go.My situation is, I have no real money of my own (I have access to 8k in liquid funds), not even an IRA I can borrow from.

I just started a career as a Mortgage Loan Officer.

However, last year I did a bit of soul searching and realized that a normal job or career simply wasn't what I wanted in life and I knew the path to my goal lay in real estate.

Here I was thinking I should maybe look into changing careers, but the truth is I do enjoy my work.

I'm going to use it for one of my upcoming vacancies! 

Someone earlier in their career may not have the same ability to navigate through the issues that can arise and still get out on top, so like you said...there has to be a risk-benefit analysis.
