@Patrick SnokeIf you are self-employed look into opening a solo 401k and then investing it passively in trust deeds/promissory notes secured by real estate.

For a couple who wants a MF home, can afford a reasonable down payment, can cover the monthly payments, will have additional income charging rent on a 2nd/3rd unit in the building, however may not have the extensive credit/employment history on paper.
