I'm looking to get started in Real Estate investing.  I currently have what I believe to be a fair amount of money invested in the stock market, and that'll only grow thanks to the vesting of additional equity from my employer.  So I want to take that and add real estate to my portfolio.  Given that I'm from California, I don't intend on investing here because the prices are relatively high.  So I want to learn about investing in other parts of the country.
