You do the accounting for each LLC, the "bottom lines", overflow into the funnel, and come out as one stream at the bottom.  

The questions that have come up so far are will the costs add enough value to the property, will the units CF enough to make sense, and while I like the idea of adding a new revenue stream, will this cause resentment or lower value of the 6 plex.

This is politically incorrect but "the old money" is losing it's grip and new blood is starting to take over.

There is no right or wrong answer to this but you need to determine how it is rectified upfront otherwise it will lead to bad blood later

If you're simply just trying to add another stream of income without putting any significant cash down and lowering your DTI, I think arbitrage could be a strategy. 

Swapped lenders mid-stream and got a new appraisal that was higher and was able to close the loan no problem.
