Hi all, I'm a first time poster and also a first time home buyer, so please bare with me.I'm moving to LA from New York in August, and instead of throwing an astronomical amount of money away on rent each month, I thought it'd be a good idea to buy, since I plan on living their for awhile.I currently make around $110,000 a year with no debts and have a credit score of 800.

@Barry Cohen Yes, a credit may work out, @Sherrie Frisone $5K sounds about right, although this is New York and there may be some other form of surcharge or Permit that will be needed.  

I'm originally from upstate New York and have traveled for work a little bit over the last few years living in Pennsylvania and currently Massachusetts.
