They’re probably tired of being approached by agents trying to get their listing (which is totally understandable), and they have a chip on their shoulder from a previous bad experience or just think agents are overpaid for what they do.

Without those means to mitigate my business risk (especially given the precarious state of the restaurant industry), I feel like just passing on these applicants as they create a heightened business risk for me which I am disinclined to shoulder, especially given the times.

They want a voice on the phone, they want hands-on, they want immediate problem resolution avenues, they want to be reminded they have value, many of them have a chip on their shoulder about the digital world.

It may seem simple at times from an outside perspective, but this is either because they're shouldering the burden/issues or they're good at what they do and this is the value they're solely bringing.
