50/50 Partnership with Real Estate Agent

A former colleague who is now a top real estate agent and I are interested in partnering 50/50 on buy and hold properties.

Considering we will be contributing equally and distributing cash flows and equity (when sold) equally, would it be fair to ask for commission split 50/50 on the acquisition of the SFH we intend to partner?

Please advise.

George

@George Vigil if you are partnering with this agent, I would recommend letting him keep the commission. He is going to have to do work on this and I believe everyone should be paid for the value they bring. If one partner was a painter, you wouldn't expect them to paint for free for instance.
