Also, all section tenants were not created equal, aside from the stereotypical section tenant, there are good people too, it could be an old widow who worked all her life but left with nothing after her husband died, a hard working single mom who struggles to make ends meet, etc;With regard to your question, I think that different regions have different budgets and sometimes the areas with high section 8 demand get disproportionate smaller budget relating to the demand.

I am looking more at Battle Creek/kalamazoo though, lots of family there and love the idea of living in a smaller to medium sized city.Ken, If you are interested in Detroit you may look at Flint, same region although hugely smaller and I have read some good things from people investing there.
