I am a finance guy but unfortunately my education is not adapted to the US real estate market and I am little bid confused.Goal:Buy a 2-3 family house to do a small rehab and rent afterward. 

I did check out the Market Maker feature though, and I feel like it's somewhat OK.

The tenants weren't particularly clean, their rents were about 30% below market, and they had a bunch of cats.

I had just bought an off market property to flip but didn't have a regular agent I worked with yet.

In the current market with the prices of homes being so high does it still make sense to be investing in real estate or to be accumulating cash and waiting to see where the market goes? 

In other words, the expense saving was rather certain but our chances of recovery on the PG seemed slim.We completed the deed in lieu over the summer and began marketing the properties immediately.
