If there's anything that would make the property unsafe or unhealthy (like lack of bathroom facilities, running water or electricity) then Fannie Mae will not loan on the property.

I love what I do, but honestly... while I know how to use all kinds of tools to do just about anything from Electrical to Plumbing to Metal Fabrication or whatever, I have obviously not learned to use some of the most impotant tools in how to make my money work best for me.

But provide the basics -- water, heat, working electricity and lights, no safety hazards, proper safety equipment (smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors), make sure windows and doors all lock and door jambs are secure and the place is clean -- no previous construction debris, no previous tenant debris, no bugs/critters.Then there's the matter of the rent and security deposit.

Water heater had issues too, and no electrical panel in the basement, and the vent for the microwave or lack thereof would be an issue, no guard rails, ALL KINDS of issues.
