I'm native to Cleveland and can say that Lakewood, Edgewater, West park, Ohio city, Tremont, Brooklyn and old Brooklyn are all great areas to check out on the west side of Cleveland.

Given both the prices and the political climate on the west coast, it seems the way to go.Nobody can tell you that everything is going to be OK, but seems like you are being wise. 

I would also suggest heading east/west to less traveled areas and talk to mom/pop note holders looking to cash out. 

Have you looked in the west side of indy?

Affordability continues to be a driving factor causing people to move away from the coasts.

I have a good  opportunity to invest in West Pensacola on a Mobile Hwy…, 20 distressed units…, but really don’t know the area !

Also, when purchasing or building in FL I would suggest staying as close to the coasts as you can.

Hello dear forum users,I just came across biggerpockets and would like to see your opinion on the subject.I am California based (San Francisco Bay area) and can't buy here (more than I already have) since the prices are over the head.In the meantime I am looking to get some dual purpose real estate on the East Coast - to rent it out for covering expenses and to live in for a couple weeks a year.Looking for the areas near ocean/beaches with good weather, so possible FL, NC or TX.Budget caps for $240K with conventional loan for 15years.I am now at the very beginning of looking around and I see the prices start falling so I can wait until the exact moment.I greatly appreciate all your expert suggestions!

make sure you educate yourself on the new "surfside" law going into effect 2024 that will affect condos up and down SE or SW coasts of Florida.

In my market (Emerald Coast, STRs), offensively low offers will get you a  NOPE response or none at all.
