I would suggest temporarily getting an LTE hotspot with an unlimited data plan from a mobile provider.

I have looked up some local REIA meetings to join in the Oakland/Wayne/Macomb areas (MI) but I'd surely appreciate any suggestions, especially ones that welcomes newbies!

I would suggest trying to find a Realtor who also works with investors as they would have the best insight to the market and what you could get for your money.

So...I'm looking for suggestions or even someone to question my understanding.

There are definitely deals still to be had in this market but it's getting more and more difficult.My suggestion to get started - since you're in Michigan, would be to start building a team (and even fly down to meet with people and network) to build relationships with people rather than just trying to do it all from afar and alone.I don't know anything about the Michigan market, or what you're plan is with investing, but Dallas is definitely a great place to buy, but the numbers still need to make sense.

I learn by doing, so any suggestions would be great.
