If you are not able to obtain a regular credit card then start off with a secured credit card until you are able to obtain a regular credit card.Be careful though about applying for multiple accounts though because too many credit inquiries will hurt your score further.

My rental covers itself and has been occupied for 2 years- My credit score is around 680.The problem is now when applying for any other loan, my debt to income is too high.Was looking out of state for a $80k duplex and not able to qualify..Any advice??

@Rebecca Coleman The most notable things I would point out on this is as follows(not in order of importance):1) Unless you have a very specific, data-driven reason for being willing to take negative CF from day 1, not a fan.2) Since you're at 0% on PM expenses, I have to assume you will self-manage?
