I could handle four days in person, but my family and children don’t always see me as working if I’m at the house or in my office. :)

I've found it very difficult to do in normal circumstances and I can only imagine that it will be very hard given that the pandemic has fewer people in the office.

This house will be important later.As an active duty officer, my income went up but my wife stopped working as we had our first baby.

My best advice it so talk to the local planning office and get something from them in writing.

You just need to find the right Loan Officer. 

Why not save as much as you can starting now and talk to a loan officer at a bank to see what you can do so you are in a position to purchase a house in one year?

I’ve called the county office that handles the sale several times to get more info about wether the tax sale wipes out existing liens or if the county even notifies the lien holders, to no avail.

You are going to want to consult a legal expert & if you know what general neighborhood or suburb you’re looking to start this in, consult the local alderman’s office or city hall who can help save you weeks/months/years of time in person vs. just clicking around the internet.
