Tax sale with MER lien

Posted

Tax sales are murky waters. Every jurisdiction does them different. I’m looking at a property in Hamilton county OH with a Medicaid Recovery Lien recorded in 2007.  The property will be offered at the county delinquent property tax sale for back taxes.  I’m having trouble finding information on MER liens, specifically if they either expire or get wiped out in a tax sale.  I’ve called the county office that handles the sale several times to get more info about wether the tax sale wipes out existing liens or if the county even notifies the lien holders, to no avail. AlI get is a voicemail and never a call back. TBH I probably won’t pursue this particular property without some clear answers, but figured I would post here to see others’ take on such circumstances.
