Rent rates look to be really good and the price point is much lower than the surrounding area's in Dallas and Fort Worth! 

I was thinking about doing this to help with those thats located in Margeno county and surrounding areas.

(A)A development application with a proposed building or parking area that encroaches on the 100-year floodplain may be approved if the encroachment is:(1)a parking area that is smaller than 5,000 square feet or an unoccupied structure that has an area of less than 1,000 square feet, and the director determines that the proposed development:(a)will not have an adverse effect on the 100-year floodplain or surrounding properties; and(b)otherwise complies with the requirements of this title;

However, Minneapolis and Des Moines are highly priced compared to surrounding small towns (as much as 10x more expensive). 

It would be great to surround myself with others who are like minded and are also learning real estate. 

What type of area are you in, do the surrounding homes have new windows?

What surrounding areas are less competitive?
