this make sense, why someone want to 1031 to DST that only yield 3-4% if STR could give 1-3% as well, not too mention the STR is ours/controllable by us and we can use it for free, if we want to 1031 to DST the apartment is unusable.in hawaii afaik quite large condo is 1031 as well.
