Most brokers will go thru a couple of cycles of throwing stuff at you and if you don't respond, they'll move on to someone with more gravitas.  

Now you can't throw a rock without hitting some condo/apartment new builds.

If you miss the "same day close" piece, you could throw the second refi into jeopardy, especially if you have not been up front that you are doing multiple financings at the same time.
