I evaluated all my student loans and found it saves me a few hundred dollars and a few months over 6 years of paying them to pay off the highest interest loans first then move that "cashflow" to lower interest loans.

I like the student rental concept, but am weary of the geography of the area.  

Like most of young professionals, I've been paying off student loan and maxing out my 401k & IRA account, really don't have much cash sitting around.

Middletown is great especially with Wesleyan there and the student market you could capture with a multi.Wishing you much success on your endeavors!

If you're hoping to rent to students, I doubt they will want to pay the extra rent for it.
