2) For a complete view, should I attempt to recreate the last 10 years in my books or start from this point forward?

I hung my hat with KellerWillaims simply due to the culture and honestly the proximity of their local office.

Don't ever sacrifice your day to day job if you don't plan to get out completely and dedicate your time to RE completely.
