Feeding investments is risky in my opinion. 

Are you able to install discrete cameras near the entry ways of your properties that will provide a video feed to your mobile phone?

Are you one of the few or just a mediocre over-charger trolling for business and feeding mine?

So it just keeps feeding on its self.

If nothing else, the last couple months has really helped me realize how truly blessed I am that we are well positioned financially and don't have to live in constant fear and stress of how we will pay the bills or feed our family if there is a temporary disruption in our income. 

The let's stay out of jail in me says install an alarm system and a surveillance system (Internet will be needed for the surveillance but you can get internet without a contract these days - and you can watch the camera feed live whenever you'd like; though some basic one-camera systems can be used without internet).That sounds expensive some will say. 

And there is a definite undercurrent in these areas that they are paying far too much to far too rich landlords and it is feeding not only the politicians but also their dissatisfaction with their apartments.

@Natalie Cloutier to me it is great that you want to do something nice but I'd rather collect the money for the water bill and donate your stimulus check to Feeding America or some other charity. 

But I also rely on my rental income to feed my family so one strategy I have used is to actually build an increase into the lease.
