Sleeping at night, and not worrying about problems (upset tenant, arguing over maintenance, vacancy on a unit and needing to make a mortgage payment, etc...) can be priceless!

If that is true that it is virtually impossible for anything of the sort to still be hidden then I would argue that there is nothing to hide which means that the foundational beliefs your father held and you now hold are just not accurate.
